Web-only content

The arrival of the new Web site offers us at Art Jewelry something that we haven't had before — the potential to publish stories that don't fit into our normal four-month lead time. So often we'll get a heads-up about something that would make a great addition to the magazine, if only it wouldn't be six months from now by the time that story saw the light of day.

If you go to the "What's New" box on artjewelrymag.com's main page, you'll see a story blurb (soon to be accompanied by a photo, as soon as the Web guys are back in the office on Monday), entitled "Metal Arts Critique Collective." It's a neat little story about a group of San Francisco-based jewelry makers who have gotten together to offer each other the kind of critical, no-holds-barred, but constructive and supportive feedback that is so necessary to the success of so many creative projects. It's a great story, a small example of the way that individual artists are finding new ways to connect — and there are some pictures of some really great jewelry pieces, too (including the sterling silver, mohair, and silk rings shown here, by Shana Astrachan).

So if you have a story, let us know. Send us a picture, drop us a line.
