I'm pleased to welcome two new — or, in one case, kind of new — staff members to Art Jewelry.
Kristin Sutter, the "kind of new" staffer, has been the copy editor for all three jewelry titles (Art Jewelry, Bead&Button, and BeadStyle) for over two years. As of October 1, she'll be dedicating her efforts to Art Jewelry alone, under her new title of associate editor. Kristin has a truly humbling command of grammar and usage, and keeps us all in line when it comes how we use (or abuse) the English language. She'll also be taking on additional duties around the magazine, including writing feature articles... you'll see a story with her byline in our March issue.
Our other newcomer is Addie Kidd, a skilled metalsmith, who has come on board as our new associate editor. I shamelessly stole Addie away from her previous position at our sister magazine, Bead&Button, because of her background as a metalsmith. Addie received her diploma in goldsmithing and silversmithing from Georgian College in Ontario, Canada, and has worked as a self-employed goldsmith in Toronto and in Austin, Texas. I look forward to her metals knowledge enriching Art Jewelry, and her jewelry designs gracing our pages.
You'll see both Kristin and Addie posting here in the future — so be sure to welcome them!
