Lead issues

Lately, the news has been full of reports of product recalls due to lead content — reports ranging from responsible reportage of genuine hazards of which we should be aware to alarmist overkill to send us all into yet one more collective tizzy. For me, this issue went from general to specific when some jewelry marketed for kids turned up on the list. I'd like to point readers to BeadStyle editor Cathy Jakicic's most recent blog post; Cathy provided a couple of useful links to sites that address the issue of lead in jewelry-related consumer products.
