Repurposed Jewelry

A couple of years ago, I found a big bag of broken jewelry at a flea market for $5. Of course, I had to buy it. The bag held broken pearl necklaces and beaded jewelry, rings and earrings that were missing their jewels, and many clip-on earrings that had lost their mates. The clip-on earrings were my favorite treasures from this bag. Since they were no longer functional as earrings (unless I felt like wearing a different earring on each ear), I decided to wear them in my hair, clip them onto the collars of my shirts and sweaters, and adorn my purses and bags with them. I came to the office today wearing a 1950s clip-on earring in my hair.

Many people remake old jewelry into new works of art. Have you found an unusual way to remake or repurpose jewelry? Tell us about it!
