While researching the topic of color theory for an article in the upcoming May issue of AJ, I came across a website that falls in the "color can be fun" category, http://www.colorstrology.com/. This site takes a metaphysical approach to color by assigning each day of the year with a specific Pantone color. The Pantone Matching System is the industry standard for printing, graphic arts, and design professionals. It was developed over 40 years ago to give the folks in these industries a consistent system to talk about color. Every Pantone color is assigned a numerical code. It keeps everyone on the same color page, so to speak.
The colorstrology website puts a personal twist on the Pantone system -- you can search for your birthday color and the personality traits associated with it. For example, I learned that my birthday color is Pantone 15-1530, or Peach Pink. Reading the horoscope synopsis is a grin. I found myself clicking on the birthdays of my husband, and other family members and friends. Who knew color could be so entertaining?
