Traveling to jewelry shows...

Is it Tuesday already? I'm in the middle of a pre-travel frenzy of activity, when tasks stack up both at work and at home, all the big things (like getting the May issue to production) and the small things (like... laundry? Buying cat food?) that form a seemingly insurmountable pile before a trip. The good news, however, is that it'll all be worth it.

On Thursday (yes, Valentine's Day), I'll be flying to Philadelphia, to attend the Buyer's Market of American Craft. The twice-annual show always has a good selection of jewelry makers among its exhibitors, and it's a good place to scout for story leads and trends. Following that, I'll be heading south (just a little bit south) to attend the American Craft Show in Baltimore.

Of course, while I'm hitting the road, associate editors Addie Kidd and Jill Erickson will be returning home from their recent trip to Tucson — I'm sure that they'll be posting about their travels in the days to come.

So, if any Art Jewelry readers (or blog readers) are going to be in Philly or Baltimore, keep an eye out, and say hello!
