Shipping your jewelry. (Really, just an excuse to talk about bubble wrap)

Katie has amassed quite a trove of bubble wrap that she saves from the shipments we receive. As we send parcels back to artists, she dips into the bubble wrap reserves and re-uses this packing material. (Same with packing peanuts, but that's a whole different blog).

I think Katie keeps the bubble wrap kind of hidden because it's just too tempting to -- you know -- pop it. Mostly, I think she needs to hide it from me. I confess, I'm a compulsive bubble wrap popper. It's just so therapeutic. If you don't believe me, try it now. And be prepared for a special treat when you hit "fresh sheet."  Happy Friday ;)  Jill

My kids like to sneak up behind me and pop bubble wrap in my ear.  I shriek and jump every time.  So while I love it's protective qualities, I'd like to ban it from my home!

    Love the bubble wrap, Jill.

I keep the sound on my computer turned off, so when I first tried popping the bubble wrap, I got the visual, but no soothing "pops." When I realized the problem, I turned up the volume, and went into manic mode for a little midday bubble wrap fun.

So for the best bubble wrap experience, make sure you have the sound turned on!

About Jill Erickson

I joined the Art Jewelry staff in March, 2006 as an Associate Editor. The time really does fly around here. It doesn't get much better than working with artists, authors, fun co-workers and looking at jewelry all day. Another bonus to magazine work is the opportunity to attend jewelry shows and conferences -- I truly look forward to these "field trips" and the chance to meet and talk with our readers and contributors.
