marketing with moo cards

Have you ever missed out on a great networking or sales opportunity because you had to go spelunking for your business card?  It's frustrating and doesn't leave a very good impression. What if you had a slick little biz card holder that fit on your keychain? (Maybe not a good example for those of us who can't find our keys either). But I digress. My point is that I met a jewelry artisan, Susie Hendricks, who dispenses biz cards like they were Pez. She had small cards printed at moo.com and purchased the accompanying keychain holder that stores and dispenses said biz cards. Yes, I took a photo. Pretty darned zippy. Way to market Susie! How do you keep your cards handy? Cheers, Jill

It reminds me of the calling card cases that were frequently given as graduation gifts when I was a lad. When you went to someones house you were supposed to leave a calling card. The one I got was silver plated with my full horrible name engraved on it to match the cards inside. My very proper aunt sent it along with 500 cards. Not a bad idea for today's jeweler. Instead of buying one we should all create our own out of what ever material we work with, silver, gold, platinum, titanium, resin, etc and hang it around our neck or wear on the wrist if female or on a keychain for males. None of this store bought stuff for creative folk. Maybe a topic for an upcomming DIY article in the magazine.

I love the idea of making your own business card holder! I definitely think that a lot of the jewelry making techniques we present in AJ project articles could be applied to creating a very cool card holder.

About Jill Erickson

I joined the Art Jewelry staff in March, 2006 as an Associate Editor. The time really does fly around here. It doesn't get much better than working with artists, authors, fun co-workers and looking at jewelry all day. Another bonus to magazine work is the opportunity to attend jewelry shows and conferences -- I truly look forward to these "field trips" and the chance to meet and talk with our readers and contributors.
