The generosity of jewelry makers.

Over the weekend, a friend of mine sent me a link that made me tear up ... both out of sadness and out of joy. A jewelry maker she knows recently found out that a dear friend of hers had been diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, and without medical coverage, was facing not only a terrible mental, physical, and emotional ordeal with the disease itself, but a terrible financial burden as well. That's the sadness; a cruel disease that plays no favorites and takes a terrible toll. The joyful part came from the generosity and kindness of the jewelry maker. Not being a doctor, she couldn't offer a cure; not being a millionaire, she couldn't offer to foot the medical bills. What she can do is make jewelry, and offer hope.

For the next month, the jewelry maker, Jolijoli (a pair of her earrings is shown above) is offering 100% of her profits from her Etsy shop (that's 100%, as in all) to help.

I'm not a doctor, either, and I'm not a millionaire. But I do have a blog, and I can pass on the link.
