Howdy Y'all!
While the Northern East coast of the U.S. is being pummeled by snow (around 3 feet, last I heard), tonight I'm blogging from the sunny, warm American Southwest. Hazel and I are in Tucson, Arizona for the big, big, big (Did I mention BIG??) gem shows.
This place is jewelers' heaven: there are stones, and gems, and fossils, and tools, and equipment, and metal, and findings, and pretty near anything else you could possibly imagine. You can't throw an amethyst 10 yards without landing on a jewelry supply dealer of some sort!
If you don't know what all the Tucson fuss is about, take a look at our article, "How to Tackle Tucson."
Yesterday, we visited Rio Grande's Catalog in Motion (shown at right). This show's especially fun because you get to play with all the new and cool tools that Rio has to offer. And while we were there, our own forum member Patrik Kusek was giving a talk on various metal clays.
I'd love to tell you more about yesterday and show you today's adventures, but I'm having serious internet difficulties tonight. So I'll try to post the rest of my photos tomorrow, once I've fought off some of these devious little internet gremlins.
Wish me luck!
~Addie~
P.S. In the mean time, if you're craving photos, you can check out my blog post from my first visit two years ago. Or you can read Jill's blog post about taking our Publisher, Linda Kast, on her first Tucson trip last year.
