I have been searching all evening for instructions/hints for soldering the round domed glass pebbles for initial charms. Links or instructions would be great!

 you basically need to wrap them in copper tape, flux then solder around and then add on a ring. there are lots of instructions online, just search for stained glass. I would recommend the book "Simple Soldered Jewelry & Accessories" by Lisa Bluhm. Amazon has it.

Thanks, but I'm not sure how to cover the back. I don't want to put 2 back to back. I just want to use one. Not sure how to get the tape on smoothly in strips.
