I have a client who wishes me to add a stone to his copper cufflinks, can I get 5mm round copper bezel cups to hold his chosen cab stone?  I've been to Rio Grande and Fire Mountains and plenty of places in the UK but to no avail.

I have heard all sorts of alternatives but I just wanted to ask you all what your knowledge and experience is.

My only thought would be to try a store that sells enameling supplies. I used to shoot a lot of pistol and I cast my own bullets and we had an item called a gas check. It was a small brass or copper cup that was set in place on the base of the lead bullet. These came in various sizes but I don't know if they make them anymore. I don't think that it would be all that hard to make a copper bezel cup. I know it is a long way from you but have you tried Indian Jewelers Supply http://www.ijsinc.com/ .

 You might also try just 'copper plating' them in your pickle by using stainless steel tongs instead of your copper tongs. I've done this by accident using my stainless tweezers in a rush and it does turn fine silver bezel a lovely copper. Not so lovely when that wasn't the intention...:)
