    Largest size for parallel/helm

    Hello All,

I am making a parallel bracelet for a rather large person. I made one in 14g 7/32 and 14g 23/64,AWG.

The bracelet looks rather small for such a large person. I need to make this bracelet as large as I possibly can but I am having a hard time figuring out how. I'd like to use 14g but need larger Id's to make the bracelet look more substantial. Can anyone help?

    Thanks, Donna

Here's a link to Spiderchain's chart of sizes she recommends for various weaves.  And if you end up ordering rings from her let her know what you are planning on making and she will logic check the AR for you.  I keep a hard copy of her charts in my chainmaille reference binder so I don't have to trust my aging brain to get it right!

I've done 163/8 and 18 1/4 in aluminum and it was quite substantial. Have you thought of making "Conundrum", which is 2 strips of parallel sewn together?

I usually put 2 rings between the connectors instead of 1.

    Thank You Jilla and Trysch,

I have finished the parallel and it didn't come out too bad. As a matter of fact, I have sold it instead of giving it to who it was intended for.

I am currently working on a romanov bracelet. It has Swarovski crystals in it. I'm wondering can it be tumbled when finished?

    Thanks, Donna
