Hi Alex, I couldn't get the pic to work for me - but I'd love to see. It sounds like a very interesting piece!

Very nice work. What are the seahorses made of.

 Its mother of pearl but gilded (gold leaf).

 Seahorse under carving, still attached to the original shell. I've got diamond burrs for this one and it will have a bit more sophisticated details.

 Collar for my gf. The shell is cast in silver metal clay after a natural one's negative in silicon rubber.  Patina produced with iodine (Lugol solution). Other beads are blister pearls and silver.

 The seahorse above, finished, will become a complex fibula like the others before.For this one I used diamond burrs, they can work much more details and the mother of pearl doesn't wear them off, obvious.
