Re: polymer clay charm/bead swap
Just wondering, I know I have asked this before, I dont remember the reply. Do all the beads I make have to be the same? The reason I am asking is I have alot of beads that I have not strung yet that I could send, however they are all different. What do you think?

Re: polymer clay charm/bead swap
while I think it would be nice to send everyone a similar bead, if you would rather send different ones it's ok with me. as long as they all fit into the "Fall colors" theme.

Re: polymer clay charm/bead swap
Well...I got the blends right this time..made the cane...it's awful. Truly, truly awful. Looks like a tree on fire, not a leaf. Penultimate example of 'when good ideas make bad canes'. I'm seeing if I can salvage some of it for LWMG, but my initial experimentation isn't lookin' too good. We'll see what happens when I bake them. Back to the drawing board, eh?

Not that I am wishing this on you Barbara but there's some consolation knowing that someone else is struggling with this as I am

Barbara,
Has anyone told you that you look naked in that photo? There! That should keep you from stressing out so much on the beads~!

What makes that even funnier, LCD, is the fact that the pic is my headshot for the corporate org chart. thanks for the laugh, I really needed that today!!

Barbara: Here in southern CA - leaves don't turn color naturally in the fall. The only orange/gold leaves are the ones that are on fire. The biggest sign of fall IS burning trees! It's peak forest fire season! Burning trees is not a problem if that's what your beads want to look like!

LOL...I just noticed that you do look like a "nudie" BUT it's appropriate on this forum as you are wearing a necklace! Fleshtone? Too pink...hmmm

Re: polymer clay charm/bead swap
I'm actually wearing the only pink thing in my wardrobe, a v-neck sweater. In the larger shot, you can see it better. But, shrink it down to an avatar sized pic, and I look like a shorn Lady Godiva! I can't say the folks at work are particularly good photographers...but this is a really nice shot of me, believe it or not. Of course, I've since cut my hair much shorter..but I digress.

YES beautiful photo, beautiful necklace BUT it still looks like you have a nice blush to your skin or the start of a sunburn

Re: polymer clay charm/bead swap
I've been on vacation with the grandkids and when we got home our internet was out. A miscommunication has kept it off so it's good to catch up on what's been going on.
Started to make some beads and let me tell you, I made the ugliest set of beads I've ever seen. On to something else!

Re: polymer clay charm/bead swap
Maybe after we all get our wonderful bead sets, we should post the "failed" beads in the "Ugly, but I learned" catagory.
Please, remember to have fun!

Re: polymer clay charm/bead swap
Because I love you guys...even if you make fun of my nudie headshots...here's the fugly leaf cane, aka The Burning Bush. No need to be gentle...I *know* how bad it is! Can you say "overpacked the stem?"

Barbara!! I like these! Very modernist look to it! The colors are perfect! ( I am envious of those that can make canes....this is one challenge I failed miserably at

Thanks Fenian. I'm sure I'll try this again, now that I know what not to do, eh? On the up-side, I've made silk from that sow's ear and you'll see the results in your swap package. He he he.
