Re: polymer clay charm/bead swap
I see it know a turkey on fire being chased by the farmer's wife with a bucket of water, and by the farmer with a double head axe! Oh, the funny scene that my warped mind is creating!

I saw the turkey feather thing too. And I think that the right colors of mica in the right places on slices could save it too. Or paint. Lots of paint..................I can hardly wait to see your bead reincarnation.

Ooooh Barbara I have been so into silk lately (have invested quite a bit into hand dyed ribbons) but the more I look at it....it does resemble a turkey.....a very colorful one at that and it is a very appropriate symbol for fall right?

LCD, I received your package quite a while ago. I have not opened any of the envelopes... keeping it a surprise, plus I don't want anything to get mixed-up!

Re: polymer clay charm/bead swap
Mine are sanded (thank you tumbler!), drilled (thank you husband), and almost all are buffed. With luck, they will be in the mail by Friday. They are not bad...in fact, some of them are quite good. I hope everyone likes them!

Barbara, looking at your site I am sure anything you make will be beautiful! I was very impressed with the necklace you made in the class by Louise Fischer Cozzi (she is one of all time fave artists!) But you mentioned that the surface of the beads were colored partly by colored pencils...can you elaborate a bit more on this for me? Thanks!

Re: polymer clay charm/bead swap
You are not going to believe this! well actually you may... knowing my "issues" Yesterday I got talked into going white water rafting....12 miles of per h*ll!! Never again! I just cannot see the fun or excitement in getting your face slammed with a ton of water over and over again...oh well...this is really off topic...HOW LONG have we had to make our beads?? And I think I got right on it...anyway after failure, failure, failure...after purchasing inks, all kinds of paints..using different shapes....I still wasn't satisfied so I did the WHOLE batch over just now! That's it...needs some finish and off in the mail tomorrow...the finish is matte thank goodness..so it will not be sticky...dries very quickly....with that I am going to bed..have an over night shift to work Happy, Happy Beads!!!!

oh Fenian - I can't believe you did a whole new batch! I can't wait to see!! Personally, I love white water rafting, but have only done it when the water was not too rough, and I never fell in. that part sounds scary.

Re: polymer clay charm/bead swap
is there anyone who will NOT be able to get their beads in the mail by tomorrow? so far I am holding 6 out of 16 packages. once I have everything, I'll take a picture, make the packages and send them out. I thought it would be really fun to have everyone send me a secret email telling which was their favorite bead. I will tabulate the results and let you know who had the most popular bead. do you like that idea?

Only 6 out of 16 so far? If you don't get one from everyone, will you just send back the extras to the artist? I hope everyone comes through. Sure, go ahead and do a Top Pick.

Re: polymer clay charm/bead swap
Hmmm - I don't know about the Top Pick. We're all at different levels. One of the ladies at our Guild bead swap made a mean crack about my beads - I'm sure it slipped out before her self-control could smother it, but it stung a bit anyway. Knowing how challenging this has been, I think I would abstain from any voting that would end up ranking the contributions, especially since we didn't intend for this to be a competition. My 2 anyway.

Re: polymer clay charm/bead swap
I agree with Jilla's thought about the favorite list. I would feel bad if people got no votes. I can't wait to get them back and see all of the wonderful things that we well create with them. Helen www.justbarrettes.com

Re: polymer clay charm/bead swap
oh, I am sure we will get everyone's submission, but in the case that we don't how about we donate the extra beads to the children's hospital? I donate LOTS of beads there and they love it. jill, it makes me feel ill that someone would make a disparaging remark about someone's work, I am sorry that happened. my idea would be a SECRET ballot, only email to me your favorite, nothing else! I think it would be fun but if other people don't like it we won't do it.

Where did you raft? Was there an experienced guide in the boat? I love to raft, and I've never had 12 miles of water in the face...and I've done some plus 4 rapids. Sorry it wasn't a good experience for you..!
