Still around...would like to try this tute!

Hi everyone!   Still around although stopped making PC jewelry.  Trying different things.  Have done some vases....my next project is to frame a mirror with PC tiles.  So I came across this tutorial and love the pendants (or from my perspective...TILES!!)   here is the link: Faux Ceramics .  Hope everyone is doing well and creating!

hey you! some of us are still here, even if only to check in now and then. nice to see you. I've seen lots of faux ceramics and they definitely can look real. make sure to stop by once in a while.

Fenian! Good to see you. I made some of those tiles and, depending on the texture and color, they can look exactly like real ceramic.

I haven't picked up a piece of clay since Christmas. Totally lost my creative mojo. Plus deciding I was making way too many beads for someone no longer interested in making jewelry. But, never say never...I'm open to it all returning.

Quite a while back, I tried out covering wall switch plates. One was using textured faux jade, antiqued, and highlighted with gold paint. I stuck it on a switch and thought, it's okay, but sort of sticks out like a sore thumb.

Fast forward to a week ago, when my house interior was finally done being painted. My bedroom is a really pretty soft sage green. The switchplates were going back on the wall, and I tried the faux jade one just to see how it would look. Wow! The greens aren't a match, but they look good together. Suddenly the switchplate had some relevance. It stands out, but it also sorta blends in.

Please do show us what you come up with!  I've seen some really great ceramic-look pc.

I'm getting some pieces ready for a gallery show at Baltimore Clayworks in the fall, developing tutorials at Jewelrylessons.com and working out the technical details for some new wire/clay prototypes.

And none other than Ms. Julie Picarello is coming to our Guild to teach a class!

It's nice to see you all are still around.  We just moved to a beautiful lake in Maine...I am hoping the serenity there will motivate me to create...so I can definitely identify with you Linelle.  Sparklebee...got an email from you...yes that's me on facebook...don't really use it too much.  And Jilla!  You are so busy!!  I wish I had half the energy you have.  I think my night job has a lot to do with my chronic "creative fatigue"...I have so many ideas buzzing in my head AND a "few" projects that need to be finished. That's one of my problems...I tend to start someting ...put hours into it ...then want to start something else before finishing the other.  At least I have stopped buying so much stuff...I have plenty to work with!

Glad to see something on this site again. I enjoyed reading the tute.
