I am new to this forum (actually, this is my very first forum), and I'd like to learn how to access the forum archives and complete threads. I get a message that the forum does not exist. I'd love to learn from the wealth of information that's there. Thanks for your help.

Re: Accessing forum archives
I agree that reading from the original forum is an excellent idea. There is a lot of great info there! Just go to the bottom of the page and click the "forum archives" link. It's on top of the little tree icon. It takes you right there. The advanced search is required, as the normal search never worked.

Re: Accessing forum archives
Thanks, Sparklebee. I got to the site, did an advanced search, but the responses were not complete. They all ended in ... When I clicked on the subject, hoping to read the entire comment, I got "the forum does not exist". Am I doing something wrong?

Hey Livewire! Just for the sake of scientific analysis and all, what was your search string?

Re: Accessing forum archives
Linelle, is search string the subject I was looking up? I wanted to learn about twisted wire diameter. Partial answers were there, but not the questions they were responding to.

Re: Accessing forum archives
Arrrghhh! I followed your directions, Linelle, and when I clicked on the bolded subject I again got the message that the forum does not exist. I even got it when I clicked on your link! I cannot get the entire thread.
Thank you for all your help.

Re: Accessing forum archives
Hmm, I clicked on Linelle's link, and I was taken to the full thread. Livewire, I've sent this thread to our Online department. We'll see if they have any suggestions or explanations for why you can't see the full threads in the archives.

Re: Accessing forum archives
this is an example of how using tags will help make this version of the forum better than the original.

There's a "bug" with the archived forums we're currently addressing.... If you are having problems viewing the archived forums, log out. Remember the archived forums are read-only and don't require you to log in.The fix should be available shortly. Thank you for your continued patience.

Lori, nothing has changed since my last post. I am still unable to view entire threads in the archives.
Thank you for addressing this problem.

Re: Accessing forum archives
Libewire you are not crazy, I have the same problem and get nowhere. I hit the link and get message not found. I have tried it logged out, logged in, standing on my head and still nothing. I am very frustrated, I am trying to research a new technique and only get a portion of the archived message. I hope they fix it soon.. That is what I loved about the old site everything was there.

I currently get a page full of errors when trying to access any archive forum content. I tried logging out and logging back in and nothing changed.

Re: Accessing forum archives
Hooray! It's working! I got the full thread and the answer to my very question.
Jim, on 4-25-07, you answered a question about what gauge wire to twist (doubled) to equal 18 g. Thanks from me also.
