    JEWELS FOR THE MIND

Ever since I was little I was compelled to give beautiful things some sort of meaning. Though my first attraction to a piece of jewelry is usually aesthetic, the mystery emanating from the treasure before me always seemed to be offering me a secret of sorts. For me, that is where the true value of a piece of jewelry lies. Though crystal and gem stones have traditional metaphysical and mystical qualities that reach far back into the history of man-kind, for me the true power of all things originates from our beliefs and ideas about them. The power of the mind is as breath-taking as the beauty of life itself! Such a gift, when a beautiful piece of jewelry reminds you to embody a quality or characteristic that you having been wanting to develop- concentration, confidence, healing, protection, love, abundance. Alchemy in the present moment! Jewelry becomes talisman.

Things become sacred because we make them sacred, and what could be better than personal reminder service that is beautiful and magic like a unique piece of jewelry.

Hi Kat, nice work. Do you deliberately mix harmonising stones for the individual as a healing or spiritual piece, or do the stones lead themselves to where you put them? That Chinese agate is a beautiful stone.

What part of QLD you from?

    Re: JEWELS FOR THE MIND

Hi there... thanks for asking!I love meeting people who want to find a specific combination of stones to provide them with a perfect symbol.  I hold gatherings- one on one, or groups, where I will display up to 100 stones and let the rocks find the right people (and visa versa!)  I love to watch this process.

Often people become attracted to one of my pieces because of the poem that was written for the piece.  This is particularly intriguing to me because I get to witness the instant power of meaning and symbology take place in a profound way.

Sometimes I create a piece and it seems to be invisible to all that come near it- and then a year or so later- someone will turn up- and that is the only piece they see!

Often people find the stones themselves and then contact me to make them something special.

Generally I attract people who are seeking some sort of meaning and I love that part of what I do.

That Agate is so beautiful- I love how richly red it is- I attached the poem for that one- the file may be a little large- but you get the general idea :).

I am based in Brisbane and much of my work sends me to the Gold Coast and Sunshine coast.  When I am not making jewelry I work as an entertainer- fire twirling, stiltz walking, balloon twisting etc.

Thanks for the contact- this is my first forum!  Where are you based?

Hi Kat. I'm in Geelong, Victoria. I do bellydancing and we have a couple of fire twirlers in our dance troupe, but the stilts walking sounds like fun. Welcome to the forum, I hope you enjoy yourself in here. There's lots of information to pick up......unfortunately, it also means that you come to realise how much stuff you'd like to try...if only you had the time/money etc. Hahaha.
