    Flower on a Byzantine Chain

Greetings!  I was inspired by another member here, Laurel, and wanted to try my hand at one of her flowers.  I gave it my own little twist and added a lightweight byzantine chain to it.  The chain is made from 20 ga. 2.75mm copper & the flower is soldered & hammered copper wire with a blob of sterling silver as the center.  I need to make more of these!  Thanks for looking!

What a playful way to give the chain a fresh look.  Nice job.  And a hand crafted clasp to boot!

So feminine! I like the clash between the "softer", feminine flower and the more hard, masculine chain. Beautiful!

Love it........what a great job on the whole thing!!! And, ermmmmm....is that a technical term - 'blob of sterling silver'? LOL Did you cut your own rings?

The contrast between the delicacy of the flower and the heavy weight of the Byzantine chain is really surprising and original. And I must say I love making such flowers myself :)

Thank you for the comments!  Yeah, I'm all about using technical terms in jewelry making!  "Blob" works, though!  I do cut my own rings with my handy, dandy Koil Kutter.  It makes life so much easier, although I don't mind sawing, but for a lot of tiny rings, it is a life-saver!
