Does anyone know a good school in metalsmithing in Los Angeles county? I visited JADC and Liberty Training Institute.

UCLA has an extension but they are full, other schools are too far south in other counties.FIDM's program is too long

Thanks so much for your reply.Unfortunately, I live in LA and Long Beach is too far.Other schools in LA don't have the academic level I need/or they are too expensive.Whre did you study? your jewelry is beautiful, specially your chain maille and bizantine chains.

 I'm in Carlsbad and work from two studios - my home studio and at the Crafts Center in La Jolla on the UCSD campus.    Try looking at all the city / community colleges and post your question on the MASSC yahoo board - Metal Arts Society of Southern CA has members from Ventura to San Diego.  Someone knows a place near you.

You might want to contact the Barnsdall Art Center. I haven't taken any of their classes but I know a number of metalsmiths that have come out of the programs there who do great work. I believe their website is www.barnsdallart.com
