    Mollie's Bead

Of course I loved every one of the beads from the swap and although I am taking a break from PC, I am putting some long over due projects together.  I just love this bead!  I used niobium and copper wire drill twisted as I wanted a choker.  Copper and mykonos ceramic beads. Hope you like it..especially Mollie!

Fabulocity Fenian!!! Not only do I love Mollie's unique bead, but you put it together with your other beads so well. I love the colors!!! Love the disk beads. Can you tell us a little more about the wire twist thing?

    Missed you.

Great design Fenian! I love how you echoed the lentil shape with the metal beads and the color with the disc beads!!! I'm super impressed (and honored that my bead was used to create such a beautiful necklace)!

Thanks! And I am so glad  Mollie that you are pleased.  Linelle I think the wire twisting is basically quite easy..I just have not done this part yet....I let my partner do it..he secures the wires on a hook that is into a wall and attaches the other ends to the drill and makes the wire twist.  I had purchased some niobium wire but I got the wrong gauge..too thin..and although I have about nine colors, I only had a bronze and green that matched the bead..this is why I used the reddish copper wire...it really looks nice with the beads.  He  also drilled just a bit bigger hole in Mollie's bead....I love him..he is soooo good to me helping with my projects.  Oh and yes I have been away..had a big transition with my younger son which has gone very well..very time consuming though and I have been trying to tidy up my work spaces (they were HORRIBLE!)

    Re: Mollie's Bead

Sometimes I wish I did fall into the well LCD!  I got the copper beads from Rings-N-Things..although I really like their inventory, I do not like their policy of a $25 minimum plus a $4 fee on top of shipping as well. But there were some copper noodles (Bali style) that I want to use for bracelets and I searched "everywhere" for another supplier...found one on Ebay that was selling four of the same for ten at the same price at RT!  (less than five bucks for ten!) AND I just had to have them so I bought these copper beads and some other small spacers to make the minimum...I LOVE copper!  And I am so into ceramics too...have been all over the 'net looking for some really nice ceramics.  Funny how your preferences change...I used to just love Swar, Swar and more Swar..which I still do but I guess I am leaning towards more organic looking pieces.

P.S I too am getting another extruder... a much better one...one that won't put me on narcotics!  I would love to make some of these beads.

    Fenian,

My preferences have changed too!  Ive done a few new things and not putting any finish on them.  Its killing me!!!   Its like my mind set is that they have to shine in order to be "done". But then when I see the finished piece later I think "Wow! I really like that look".  Ive also practiced my O rings and can get them closed without having a meltdown now.  Im working on cube shapes too and I just must get an extruder! Thanx for the copper info, its my favorite also.  Ive ordered from them before, but forgot about them until you mentioned it.
