Hi! 

I recently was shown how to make a bezel setting, but didn't have time to actually set the cabochon in the beze.  I have read that I can use a bezel rocker to do this.  It actually says to place my cabochon in the bezel and using a bezel rocker gently push the bezel down into he stone at   12, 6, 3, and 9:00.  It then says to use a burnisher by the outer edges with constant pressure.  My questions are:

1.  Using this method, will my cabochon stay in the bezel?  Seems like glue or something would be better.

2.  What is a burnisher?

3.  Can anybody provide further instruction?

I do not use a bezel roller to set, but instead use a prong pusher, like this one:

Burnishers are used after you have pushed the bezel in place (with a bezel roller or prong pusher). It is the final step to smooth out the metal and make it nice and shiny.

Glue is frowned upon in stone setting. If you set it correctly, the stone will not fall out…but necessity sometimes rules. J
