So I guess i realized that this is not tarnish after reading all of your posts and articles and that it is in fact. . . discoloration or metallic abrasion. Does anyone know a solution that can prolong the look of gold filled before it gets discolored- i made a necklace and wore it overnight and the gold part got a dark film on the back of it-(the part that was touching my skin) how can i sell this to my customers if it darkens the next day?  Am i the only one with this problem?

 that sounds suspicious, as the covering on gf is too thick for that to happen, especially overnight! are you sure your wire is not plated?

I am positive its gold filled, i made sure of it!  could it be because it was a matte finish and not the shiny finish- I mean the stuff sits there before i use it for days on end- and it never discolors-stays shiny and looks great- but as soon as i wear it- its turns another color?  I am so frustrated!  i don't know what i am doing wrong?
