    My New Book

    Hi Everybody,

My book "The Handbook of Metal Clay: Textures and forms" is now available on my website www.artinsilver.com. It's 128 pages, full color, spiral bound, all step-by-step projects. It is self published, can only be purchased on my website, and the number of copies is limited. Here is a full description of the book and some sample pages.

Since my DVD came out only about a month ago, it's probably a good idea to say a few words about the differences between the book and the DVD.

The first project in the book is the  same as in the DVD: "Collage of Textures", followed by a description of the finishing process. There are also two projects for "Treasure Bags", but they use different techniques than the project in the DVD. One project, "Rubber Band Earrings", uses the same technique as in the DVD  (flexible clay) but with a different design.

The project "Woven Earring" had been published in a magazine. The version offered in the book is an improved one.

There are about 33 projects in all (some chapters have more than one project). They are arranged in a way that makes the book as close as possible to an on-hand course in a class room. It contains lots of tips, suggested templates, frequently asked questions, and sample pieces of jewelry. For people with no experience in metal fabrication, I included some techniques that are required for constructing or assembling pieces.

Please feel free to contact me with any question you have.

    Happy New Year,

    Hadar

    Re: My New Book

I bought this book & love it. It is well written with great photos...in depth knowledge that I have not found in the other 5 books& 2 dvd's I own on silver clay.

It seems a bit pricey..until you get it! I would have paid $35 for 2 pages!

    A great book! Thanks Hadar!

    Re: My New Book

I have recently purchased your book and I congratulate you on the best metal clay book I have seen so far! It is innovative and not the same old variations revisited. The work is truly unique and a worthwhile purchase for all metal clay users.....including 'old hands.' Your approach is refreshing and after trying some of the projects I am motivated to try new ideas and take a fresh look at some old ones. My new favourite clay is 'flexible' standard PMC. It is easy to mix and great for 'carving' once dry. Finishing with a knife is easy and no sanding (apart from a 'wet wipe') is required.

    Thanks for the inspiration Hadar!
