    August chainmaille

I am trying to make the chainmaille piece featured on page 55 of the August 2007 issue and am totally lost. I'm fine until I get to "photo 5". It sounds like there is quite a bit of information missing, it says "continue adding rings...". I'm confused as to what that means. Do I add a row of two then a row of three, or is it some other pattern?

Love the weave and would appreciate any help in understanding it.

I tried to search for your project, and it seems that there's a July and a September issue -- but unfortunately, no projects appeared!

What's the title of the project? Maybe someone without the issue could help you simply by knowing which weave it is. Your description sounds like it might be a European weave.

I think "Wired" is talking about the August issue of Jewelry Artist, a different publisher.

You're correct, John, it was my Jewelry Artist mag I took this from. Sorry about that.

    Hi Wired,

Sorry for the delay, I was busy last night.

I pattern appears to be what is sometimes called Open Round Chain Maille.  You might look at my web site at www.bijoux-de-terre.com, click on "For Our Students" on the left, and look at the directions for Open Round Chain Maille.  It might give you a different view on how to assemble it.

    Cheers.
