Lucky you Jenny. The classes are so much fun. And since they are so much fun you won't realize how much work you are doing. I loved every minute of my class and planon taking a Level 2 and an enameling class this summer. Have fun!! Alice

Yes the course was so much fun there were six of us on the course and Larissa our teacher was so good.

Luckly I managed not to break any of my pieces.  I will try to take some photos of the pieces tonight and post them.

I would like to take the 2nd level later in the year, I want to get some more practise in before then.

Jenny, Nice job. How many days was your class? Seems like you accomplished a lot. I am certified through Pmc connection. It is interesting to see the difference between the two classes. The projects are quite different. Are you ready to go for Level 2 now? Alice

    Re: Level 1 Certificate

The level 1 course is over 3 days, I would like to do the Level 2 but the recommendation from my teacher is to leave it at least 3 - 6 months between the two courses.

The level 2 course is over 4 days.

So I think I will give myself some time to practice and then think about the level 2 course in say August time

All the projects for both courses can be seen in the following books.

Level 1  - Art Clay Silver - Basic Book

Level 2  - Art Clay Silver - Advanced Book

Great job! I especially like the rings. Were you able to make them the correct size the first time? Did you enjoy making the brooch/pin?

(Been trying to reply since yesterday but I couldn't get on for some reason).

    Re: Level 1 Certificate

The first ring I made which was the rope ring with stone setting, did come out a bit large but that was more because of using the cardboard ring sizers, for the band ring and the pearl ring I used my own ring sizers and they came out the correct size.  Luckly on the Level 1 it does not matter so much if the rings are not quite the right size, but it does on the level 2 course.

Yes I quite liked making the brooch, I have to say that before it was fired and the stones added I did not think much too it, it is surprising how much better things look when finished.  I only had one problem with the brooch and that was the first hole that I drilled for one of the fittings hit the end of one of the stone setting prongs so I had to fill that and start a new hole.

So looking forward to my next course which will be one of Sherri Haabs Image Transfer courses as Sherri is in the UK next month doing a round of teaching classes at different venues and she will be doing one at the same place where I did my Level 1, so I have booked on that.

Looks up and waves at Silver Chick (she is my teacher) and a lovely person.
