Going to Istanbul Jewelry/Bead show as a buyer, please advise!!!

HI!!!!!  next week, 26-30 march I'll be going to turkey to the Istanbul Jewelry Show at the CNR Expo Center. Hopefully I'll buy all the beads I can afford, since I do all my bead buying by internet, because there is not one bead store here in Georgia( I'm looking forward to actually see what I'm buying)

So my husband is nice enought to sit in the bus with me (27 hrs) to go from Tbilisi to Istambul knowing that he will walk strait from the bus to the bead show, he is a trooper. He really must love me a lot.

So anybody who has been at that show who can give me an advise or a coment, what ever will be helpfull, please do.  This will be my first bead show ever!!!! Please if you have been at this show  tell me if it features a big sellection of beads findings and tools or it is more custom jewelry, and watches and diamonds (wich I'm not intrested on).

    Please, anybody HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dear Istambul, welcome to the forum!!!!

I want to ask you so much, but to not abuse your generosity I'll only ask you few things....

I need an invitation? how can I get one...I thought I only needed a business card and an ID to get in.

Is in this show a big selection of gemstones, tools and findings sellers, or just a few?

It would be great if you could answer this questions, thanks again!!!!!

Good luck at he show, Mariazurita,

If it is like most international jewellery shows it will be mostly diamonds, fine jewelry, precious metal jewelry. But there should be some bead suppliers as well as tool and equipment dealers. At some shows related dealers set up in nearby hotels or sometime a secondary show. Ask vendors and hotel staff about other places you can find the goods you are looking for.

When you ask, be aware that most visitors are are looking for retail jewellery. Most often the hotel people will direct you to tourist jewellery stores. You have to get past that idea.
