    Stamping your finished piece-necessary?

Hello! I'm doing a bunch of sterling pieces right now that I hope to sell soon, and I do not yet have a makers mark or a sterling stamp-I will buy them if totally necessary, but money situations are currently tight. I was wondering who in the community uses either a makers mark or sterling stamp, and if either/or is considered essential in the finishing and selling of a piece. Thanks!

I stamp the metal(s) content and my logo on all my fabricated pieces, for chains...if I remember, I make a logo tag.  I don't know the legalities, but it adds instant credibility to your work.

I have had customers remark how they like to have an artistans tag or a makers mark on the pieces they buy. like Loopy said, it gives credibilty to the piece. Yes, it's an expense initially, but in my opinion it's worthy.
