Something I'm not seeing on the new board: Most message boards include date/time info when a post gets edited. It's good to know, esp. if you think something about it changed from the last time you read it. I also try to include "Edited to add:..." and then say something that might explain what changed.

I just think it helps understanding and the flow of the thread if it's noted that an edit has been made.
