hi-- I'm from Berkeley. I'd like to recommend The Crucible in Oakland is an artist-run nonprofit that has metal clay and lampworking classes, along with a lot of other neat stuff like glass casting, blacksmithing, jewelry, welding, and foundry classes. Check them out at http://www.thecrucible.org/
