Do you buy things you don't need? Things you already have, but figure why not get more?
I was at my local independent art supply store today. All their paints (Golden, Liquitex, etc.) are all permanently 30% off, that's a way better deal than Michael's. Usually little art supply stores are a lot more expensive than the chains, but not anymore! I'd much rather shop there anyway. I bought another 4-oz. jar of micaceous iron oxide for $9-something, the same price as Blick, but no huge shipping/handling costs. So I talked myself into some Golden metallic paints and then this cool Sophisticated Finishes Blackened Bronze and Blue Patina (not on sale) that I'd been lusting after for months. They have a little Fimo leaf example in the store, and I would kill to be able to make something like it.
So, $40 later I'm going, what are you doing? I have a bunch of clay, paints, inks, leaf, etc. and I can't stop buying the stuff. So I made a vow that until September, I will buy no more clay or stuff to go with clay and use only what I already have. If I run out of something for one technique, it's God's way of saying, try something else with supplies you have on hand. Kinda reminds of of the old semi-precious gem stringing days. I have a s***load of that stuff still that I just had to have and didn't do anything with.
