     Hi Elly,

Today I'm in Alexandria VA, Last week in Chicago. Mostly I'm in Spokane WA on the dry side of Washington State. That's where my business, Rings & Things, makes its home.

For the record I still had the blank screen problem tonight, from a wireless connection at a hotel on my XP home laptop with the latest ver of Firefox DL'd this morning. The ads did load on the right side but the forum body was blank below the header section.

I'm also running Firefox v. 2.0.0.9 on both XP and OS X. Firefox updates you automatically.

After a respite from the blank areas, it's back in full force again. As Russ notes, the ads show up without any problem. A month or so ago this bug seemed to be fixed, so I'll bet your web team has a fix somewhere in their bag of tricks.

AARRGHHH, Russ!!!  I surely don't know what to say, my friend.  I wonder if it has something to do with the carrier, now???  I use AT&T (used to be SBC), here in Michigan.  It's also DSL.  I can only think that there may be a connection in carriers, perhaps.  (When you go wireless, you're not guaranteed one carrier or another).

Can anyone else weigh in on what carriers they use?

(I was almost gunna say, again, that I've never experienced "anything" like this...but, ya know what?  I have! (sorta)  Back in July, I had problems with clicking on pix and--as I scrolled down--they, basically, disappeared (long story, but created a blank screen).  I remember I sought the expertise of Wade Elmblad and he solved the problem almost immediately...

So, question:  IS WADE ELMBLAD still involved in this forum?  'Cause, he helped A TON!!! - and, really knew his biz...)

Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could; some blunders and absurdities have crept in; forget them as soon as you can.

Tomorrow is a new day; you shall begin it serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense.

    Hi, Rhonda~

Obviously, I'm not katie, but....I'd suggest you come on over to AJ~!!!  Maybe, check back in now and again to B&B to see if they've made any changes (but, it'll never be the same forum we used to know, my friend).

    Take care,

Thanks, Elly, If they'd consider adding a folder for seed beads, maybe I would. Interestingly, since I posted my message, one or two staff members have dropped by the B&B Forum and even left a post, which hasn't happened in a while, so maybe the message got passed along. Ann Dee Allen (the editor) said if we had a constructive question about the forum to post it in the "About the B&B Forum," and I didn't waste any time requesting more folders, and also a video for the wire wrapped loop--it's posted here and in the BeadStyle Forum, and I expect it was just an oversight not to add it to the B&B Forum too. That's a skill we all need to know.  No answer yet, but I don't mind waiting.

If the request for more folders is unsuccessful, maybe I'll ask for a Seed Bead folder in this forum...but then I'd have to ask all the seedbeaders to join me, and I'm not sure they would. I think we have more seedbeaders than we did before, but I miss the ones who have moved on.

I may be in the minority, but I like the look of the new Forum (AJ is very jazzy, although I prefer the blue border in B&B. The BeadStyle Forum is a little too homespun for my taste, but there's something for everyone). I am sorry to read that people are still experiencing problems with the blank areas on screen. I have to hit the refresh button every so often, but my computer (less than a year old), connection (FIOS) and browser (MIE) seem to be more compatible with the forum software than some.  I do wish the ads were a bit smaller; the scrolling ads bother my eyes (there seem to be more of those in B&B). I know the ads are helping to underwrite the cost of this "free" site, and after a while you don't really see them, but you know they're there. It comes in handy when I want to check something at ArtBeads or Rings&Things. I became a subscriber of B&B, and consider the "members only" areas to be a perk, and am glad I subscribed, but haven't really spent too much time checking out those areas.

I'm sure I'll be back for a visit. Thanks again, Rhonda

Edited to add, I had to hit the refresh button a couple of times tonight, and that doesn't happen very often. I do need to clean out my browser cache, and if you haven't done it in a while, it's a good thing to do periodically and can really speed things up. You may lose your "remembered" user name/password, but it only takes a minute to re-enter and save.

I just read your previous post, I usually use AOL to get on the Internet (with Microsoft Explorer). Our connection is Verizon FIOS (the cheapest package). We upgraded not too long ago. To be honest, it doesn't seem that much faster than the cable connection we had before, but the line is more stable. We have the option of upgrading to a faster service, for more money, but for now this gets me where I want to go, in a reasonable length of time. I still remember the dial-up days on a really slow hookup.

     Hi everyone,

I'm sorry that some of you are still having problems. I'll let our online department know that the problem has gotten worse.

Thanks for checking in on us, Katie!

Although I had to refresh  to get content at home (DSL) last night and this morning, I've NOT had the problem at all from work today (T1's). If your techs have made some changes, it might have helped.
