Mark as read at index level

I know the "mark all as read" option is available on the individual forums but it would be so nice if the same functionality were available at the forum index level (i.e., an option to mark all posts in all forums as read in one action).

Reason: I usually just read selected threads in each forum. Then I have to mark all read in that forum. Repeat for the next forum. Being able to do it at the forum index level after I have browsed everything that interests me would  save the time it takes to do this for every forum individually.

    Thanks for considering this request.

I know it's considered rude to reply to one's own post, but I just wanted to state that I would have liked at least an acknowlegement of the problem from someone involved with this site. Guess we're supposed to be either happy or quiet. :(

Hey MamaKitty, usually they respond, sometimes they just need a reminder. Hopefully someone behind the scenes will see this and get back to you, maybe even fix the problem.

I'd just like to second that it would be nice to be able to "mark as read" at the index level.

It's unusual for questions to go unanswered in the ArtJewelry forum, and I'm sure you'll get an answer soon. I wish the same could be said for the Bead&Button forum. I come over here to find out what's going on, and stay to see what's new in the Show your Work area.

The ArtJewelry forum is way ahead of the other two when it comes to improvements since the re-do.  It took until 2 or so weeks ago for us to see the name of the original poster and the automatic resizing of photos, but we're still waiting for new category folders and the promised FAQs. Edited to add, the FAQs have been posted in all the forums.  Fortunately a few of us know a little about programming and we've figured out a lot of stuff ourselves. At any rate, don't complain too loud, because the rest of us are are lagging much further behind.

Hi everyone, I'm sorry that you didn't get a response. I was out of the office last week, and didn't have e-mail or web access. I'll make sure this request gets to the online department.

Thank you, Katie. Not to seem ungrateful, but my original post was on July 28th and I waited until September 4th to bump it up.  I'm appreciative that you will pass along my request but don't really expect anything to come of it. Actually, I"m finding the frustration with the many problems with this forum has one bright side -- I only check in here once a week or so and have the time available for other things. Every cloud has a silver lining :)

    Hi MamaKitty,

I'm sorry that I didn't respond to your post in July. I'm doing my best to resopond to all of the posts. I'm glad that you found the silver lining in this. I hope that we can continue to resolve issues with the forum.
