In need of a manufacturer for resin

I need to find a manufacturer who will pour my necklaces in volume.  Does anyone have a resource for that?

I don't. Do you already have the molds made? This is going to be tough to find, methinks. Is there really that many that you can't pour them? I suppose your only choice is going to be a factory and your volume is going to have to be humongous to justify it. I know I'm not helping... sorry I have no info.

Well, thanks for taking the time to reply sparklebee.  I know this is a tough one.  I really do need a large enough volume that I either have to hire my own staff (which I am really resisting) or send it out.

I have other projects that are taking my time but this will be tied in so. . .

    Thanks again,

Have you tried the good ole yellow pages in your area for the services that you need? Is this something that a trophy making company could do for you? If it a piece of mass produced jewelry maybe you could have it done off shore in say India or China. If it is a token of appreciation for attending a seminar or buying a book maybe you could set up an account with a jewelry manufacturer in one of these countries on an on going basis to keep up with your demand for new product. You also might try asking at a nearby college art department and see if there are any students who want to be independent contractors to you at the local level. You pay them more then if they were your employees but they have the obligation for paying their own taxes not you. I did this sort of thing in my youth building fiberglass objects in the artists molds. It was a good arrangement for both of us. he hated doing fiberglass and liked the money.

You do not have to hire employees yourself.  As suggested, going thorugh a college you can find temporary, as-need, somewhat transient part time help AND work with the school to make it an internship so the student gets course credit in addition to, or instead of, being paid.

Contact the MJSA (Manufacturing Jeweler's and Silversmiths of America) in RHode Island and ask about contract and job shops that do resin work. One of MJSA's roles is to connect business with MJSA members like this.
