    Filtered butane for torch?

Hi - I have a small butane torch I use for minor silver soldering. I have bought butane at a couple of places, and find that the torch cuts out at times. I watched an instructional video on YouTube and she mentioned that you can't use butane from typical places, it must be triple filtered or -- you guessed it -- your torch will clog. Any idea who a supplier for such a product is? I even thought you can't mail butane due to its flammability.

    thanks,

Never heard of that. I just buy the biggest bottle of butane I can at Home Depot. I first used an expensive brand of butane torch for small tasks but after it went belly up I bought a cheap one at Habor Freight for about $5 and it has worked fine for a year now without any problems. Most of my soldering tasks are done using my old Prest-Lite torch. I have just never heaard of filterd butane.

    Hello Karen,

t Normal 0 21 That the torch  occasionally suspends can have the following cause:
Butane is liquid under pressure. If the gas comes liquid into the burner nozzle, the burner begins too " spit " or the flame expire. Therefore keeps the burner never so diagonal that liquid gas can arrive into the nozzle. A better solution is to connect the gas tanks and burners  by a rubber hose. Then there are no problems.

Not so good! Nozzle and gas container are direct connected

Found it at a Fader's (smoking shop).  Apparently cigar afficionados use nothing else in their lighters. Go figger.
