Feeling a little like a red-headed stepchild in here, but...

... I'll post anyway.  :-)  I come from the other side... the Bead and Button forum.  But that seems very seed-bead oriented and I don't know my way around seed beads at all.

So feeling a little like a man without a country, I'm going to post here now and see if this is a more appropriate place to share.

Oh, but before I forget, I also do a weekly give-away contest... check it out if you have time.

I don't think I have a niche yet.  I try a lot of different things, but mainly work with beaded designs.  Here are some of the latest:

    Laura,

I feel the same way.  I even dropped my subscription to B&B since it was mainly seed beads.  I've always enjoyed seeing your lovely creations and great eye for color!  Your jewelry fits in anywhere!  Alice

     Laura,

Ditto what Alice just wrote. Your color combinations are lovely and the pieces are beautiful. Stay here and keep posting!!

Gosh, I didn't know red-headed stepchildren had a harder time then any other stepchildren. Well any way you work looks very nice. Yet I don't see how you can be a man without a country, your a woman. Anyway you want to be out of step with creation? be a man that beads. That is like being a cat in a pack of pit bull terriers. Sometimes I'm not sure that any of the forums here are all the friendly, must be a jeweler thing, but all in all they are reasonably good. Enjoy and keep posting.

I'm glad you've decided to come over here.  Don't worry about feeling out of place - we've really got a very diverse group of artists here so there's  room for everyone.  I have always enjoyed your sense of color so I'm glad to see you here.  Welcome!

hi there. this group is a little of this and a little of that! nothing like it used to be in the good old days in terms of activity but at least there are no fights and sometimes you get some pretty good info and see lots of great stuff.

I feel the same way you do Laura.  I  seem to have more of an affinity for the art jewelry forum than any other I've visited.  I am still a bit nervouse to post some work, but I'll get there soon, maybe new fall stuff.  Thanks for being honest.  It always helps knowing there are others out there thinking and feeling the same way you are.

Thank you for the warm welcome.  :-)

BTW, the red-headed stepchild comment is tongue in cheek.  It's just a phrase, nothing more... hope no one was offended.

Anyway, these four listings all end today.  I'll be putting more up on eBay, then adding stuff to my store.

Oh hey, don't forget to check out my site 'cause this week's give-away is FREE photography!  Yay!

Yeah Laura, what Bentiron said, "men who bead" are greeted with a complete lack of respect that would put any stepchild in the shade.

That's why I now "carve waxes and cast precious metal" in a very hearty, some even say manly sort of way :-)

( entre nous,  I still bead as much as ever, of course )

Anyway, WELCOME  to the Art Jewelry Forum even though you've been here longer than I have.

    Dennis

BTW, nice strands! I'd be happy to have done those myself.

Ha ha ha!  Thanks.  Love your response.

Dallas, huh... I'm sending my son to Dallas next month (he's on a hockey team).

BTW, no siggie line???  You don't sell online?  I've love to see what you make.
