    Texture tools & Hammers

I have been looking for texture tools and today I found some here http://www.blacksmithsdepot.com/ . While I was there I also noticed that they had planishing hammers on sale for 35% off ranging from 250 gr. to 2000 gr. Plus you will notice that it is a blacksmithing site. They have a large selection of hammers that have application for all types of metal working including jewelry. It is a good thing my wife has the credit cards otherwise I would have some new hammers plus some texture tools.

How do suppose you use the texturing tools?  They must be two pieces  - annealed metal in the middle and start hammering?

Ferrous metals heated and placed in the middle of the spring swages and hit and for non-ferrous metals annealed and placed in the middle and hit. Some of the texture tools are only one sided so I thought that maybe the metal clay folk could use them or maybe even the poly clay folk. Who knows where they could lead. Sure different then your standard hammer texture.
