OK, I'll do the intro thing. :)

I'm Janice. I've been making jewelry for a little over 4 years now. Began with wirework then moved into a bit of sheet metal, mostly stamping - working cold...then rivets...then some heat for reticulating and then I began soldering just over a year ago. Now I do primarily soldering - fabricating. Working in sterling. Some copper. I also love to play with resin. Inlay mostly. :)

I also host the jewelry artists network - www.jewelryartistsnetwork.com which is mainly a forum - I've just been too busy to focus on the rest of it. We're having a retreat in September in NC - a bunch of people from 5 or so different forums getting together - we have a few slots left if anyone is interested - just PM or email me. :)

What else.....hmmmm - I live in MD, am mom to two - my son is 6, my daughter is 19.

Hi Janice : ) your retreat sounds real fun but there is no way I could make it. maybe sometime in the far future I'll be able to do stuff like that.  My kids are only 5 and 7!

Sparkle, It will be an annual event from here on out so maybe next year! (its WAY cheap!) My son fits right in between your two!!!!  Aren't they fun?

You beat me on the offspring age gap by a mile.... my two boys are 11 and 21! (Nice to have a built-in babysitter )

Hi Maz, I am really getting excited about the retreat - what could be more fun than hanging out with other artists for a week and picking each others brains and making things!????!!! Ahhh, yours are 10 years - mine are 13. Its like having two 'onlys'! They each have received full attention but didn't have built in play partners - there is an up and down to everything, but its neat to see them together. They have a very cool relationship. :)
