workshop with Michael Sturlin at MAC

Next month I will be teaching a workshop in a fundamental and
foundational aspect of working with precious metals that may
be of interest to some of the forum members.

This is where it all begins, the torch and the metal, the traditional
approach to goldsmithing and jewelry fabrication.

Studio Essentials is a two day class on October 18/19 at the Mesa
Arts Center in Mesa Arizona. The focus of this workshop is making
precious metal mill products in house: forming sheet, wire, and
tubing from raw materials in a typical jewelry studio environment.

This class offers a unique opportunity to learn about alloying and
amalgamating precious metal as well as hands on experience
in annealing and forming nonferrous metals. This knowledge and
ability will provide the studio artist greater range of versatility and
    increased fluency with the material.

Further information and a detailed workshop description available
click on Studio Essentials on the right side of the page.

For those who may not know about MAC, it is a brand new fully
furnished state of the art Art Complex with wonderful studios for
metals and jewelry, metal clay, lapidary, enameling, ceramics,
    and glassblowing instruction.

You may also contact me by email at michaelsturlinstudio@cox.net
with any questions about this event or check my website schedule
dates for my 2008/2009 workshops and classes.

I couldn't get the MAC link to open. You need to go to the MAC site and then go to jewelry classes to see that class plus the others offered by Mr. Sturlin. http://www.mesaartscenter.com/artstudios.aspx
