    Enamel

After reading through the article on enamel work, twice, I have a whole new appreciation for the art of enameling. It ain't that easy! All that scrubbing, fluxing, firing, scrubbing, stoning, applying the enamel powder it is a time consuming labour intensive process just to get a small pendent. Not a quick nor easy process. You that do enameling have my admiration.

    Re: Enamel

Enamel has opened a whole new world for me, I experienced such trepidation when ordering my kiln but now I can't image my work without some color. I have a lot of admiration for all enamellist, especially Susan Knopp, Marianne Hunter & Karen Cohen and many, many others. I would love to have a class in cloisonné or painting with enamels, yummy!

Bentiron, I haven't seen this article yet, is this in the May issue?

    Re: Enamel

It is the March issue and the article is on adding dichro paper to your enamel. Still a lot of work to make little pendent but they look so nice.

    Re: Enamel

I agree.  It is a lot of work, however, I am intrigued and plan on trying it.

I think I'm going to try the liquid acrylic enamels with my beehive kiln.  I am new to this so if anyone has suggestions, please feel free to share.

I know I would need to clean the copper first.  Would I need to still use kylfire?

     Thanks in advance:-)
