    stamping glass

     Hi everyone,

just played around with an ink called "Stazon" for those into stamping, and those into glass memory embelishments for jewellery etc, this product looks pretty cool!

This is just  a test piece using Inkssentials memory glass and Stazon ink and the cleaner (you need the cleaner to get the stuff of your stamp!) -inked a vintage postage envelope front style rubber stamp. Stazon dried solid and pretty durably and its perfect stamped onto non porous surfaces so its great for metals as well as things like glass, plastic etc Down side, you loose some detail as the excess ink usually present on rubber stamps will sit ontop of the surface unlike stamping on cardstock where the excess becomes extra black as it absorbs so you lose that grey scale that gives stamped images theoir dimension. However, instead you do get another effect which you can probably see of a kind of 'watery' excess which is also nice...

Thought for those who may want to try something different/extra with memory glass and keepsakes this could be fun!

now you are talking my language. I use the Inksentials glass and also Staz-On. It's known to be the best ink to stamp onto glass. I make polymer clay pieces, sandwich them between microscope slides and solder it together. have only completed one piece but I love it. I think I am the first person to do this! usually people use a photo or other piece of paper/fabric art.

that texture is stunning! very nice! I love the idea of soldering to make a frame - I'm scared of solder :)

thank you. this kind of soldering uses an iron, so not too scary!

Wow, Lori, that pendant looks fabulous. So earthy and organic. Wonderful. Geez Cynthia, you're going great guns!!! The stamping is a something I've never thought of doing and your molds in the other thread are amzing. As a Biologist, I love the concept of muscles as art. (Which would be why we gaze a buff young things as the beach....purely for aesthetic reasons, of course)
