Bezeled Onyx on Wheel Fox Tail Chain Necklace

I made this piece for my son.  He picked the design of the pendant.  The pin wheel is made with 16g silver.  The chain is handmade double fox tail chain.

Full Persian (Fox Tail) is my favourite weave for men, along with Jens Pind. You fuse the rings together and then weave, is that correct? Do you then fuse the rings shut? or do you do something different? I tend to use 4mm 20G rings or 6.5mm 16G to make a tight weave, 6.5mm 18G to make something looser to put seed pearls in, or small garnets. Do you find double ringing the weave makes it more or less flexible? My face is 2 cm from the screen trying to peer at the weave, hahahahaha.

Hi, I agree this a great chain for men, but I also like it for women.  This chain may look like a full persian, but it is not.  Fox tail which I think is also called loop-in-loop is not really a weave.  I found a tutorial here that shows how to make a single fox tail.  You can see it at http://www.artjewelrymag.com/art/Objects/PDF/art-on0208.pdf

The double link assembly is similar, except that in figure eight the new link is the previous link instead of the one you just made.  There are other desings of fox tail, but the singel and double are the ones I like.  The other ones are not as flexible.  I used 18g fine silver and 10mm id for the rings.  I hope I have answered all your questions.

Hi, I agree that the weave you are describing and referring to in the article is called foxtail, but the chainmaille weave Full Persian is also called foxtail, hence the mis-communication.

When I saw that article in Art Jewelry, I thought that it would be about fusing rings together for the chainmaille weave, but it was about fusing the rings to make the loop-in-loop style.

Now I understand why I was confused about the weave-work in your piece! And, yes, you have answered all of my questions, thank-you.

The similarities are stunning.  Very nice bracelet.
