Here are a few of my favorites:
Gold earrings from Siphnos, 17th-18th century. Three-masted caravels
with multicoloured enamels and pearls. Ornate surfaces like transparent
gold lace with enamelled details echo the influences of European rococo
sailing ships hang from bows topped by a crown. Athens Benaki Museum,
inv. no. 7670.
Gold earrings of boat-shape type with ***-horse. (Athens, National
Archaeological Museum, ST. 237). First half of 5th century BC.
Gold pendant with a pair of wasps or bees. Superb specimen of
Minoan goldsmithing with granulation and filigree technique. From
Chrysolakkos, Malia, Crete. (Herakleion Museum). 1800-1600 BC.
