    Re: About Alloy

Hello Arshad, Welcome to our forums!

I'm not sure I understand your question. Is there a particular alloy about which you are asking?

"Alloy" is any mixture of 2 or more metals.
Steel is an alloy of iron and other metals.
Brass is an alloy of copper and zinc.
Pewter can be an alloy of tin and antimony. Some pewter is an alloy of lead and tin.

    I hope that helps.

Can you tell us a little about Meerut? It's not a city I am familiar with. Is there much jewellery or beads made in your area? I know very little about U.P. except that it is the state where Agra, Lucknow and Varanasi are located. I came by car from Mussorie and DehraDun through the cane harvest last year. Could I have traveled through Meerat on that trip?

    Re: hi Russ

     Thanks for the reply, Arshad!

I'll have to take a closer look at the maps. It's quite possible I passed very near your city on that long cab ride last fall from DehraDun back to Delhi. It was a very busy road, perhaps more than usual with all the lorries, tractors and carts hauling sugar cane.
