    Tennessee

Hi, y'all!  I'm from Cleveland, Tennessee...It's between Knoxville and Chattanooga in the eastern part of the state.  Makes it convenient to NC, GA and KY.  Beautiful part of the country.  I'm told TN used to be three separate "states", because the east, middle and west parts are so very different from each other.  It's actually farther from Memphis to Kingsport, TN(upper north corner) than it is from Kingsport to Canada!!!

We have a lot of good shows in our area, guilds and artisan/crafters.

Barbara...by the way, the mosmbarb stands for "mean old step mother Barb"

middle tennessee here.  Murfreesboro.  I would love to pick your brain about doing shows in this area.  I have alot of nice work, just no knowledge of marketing or getting it out there.

nice to see local jewelry artists.

Hello, Nashville here I am glad as well to see other jewelry artist from TN since I haven’t seen very many on this forum. I don’t know very much about the locals shows except for the big show in the Spring at Centennial Park, Christmas Village at the Fairgrounds in December, local Art Galleries & shops that take local artists’ work (there is a shop at the Loveless Motel on Hwy 100 that has beautiful work from a Vanderbilt Professor) and of course the Frist Center gift shop! (Don’t I wish!!)

I can connect you to an event site:  It's www.eventlister.com or www.craftlister.com.   You can fine tune your results to an area around your zip code or go nationwide.  I use it quite a bit.

I try to stay near Knoxville or Chattanooga, because all of our Nashville relatives have passed on...no more free lodging, you see.

I try to do the Cleveland Apple Festival every October, and there is a Strawberry Festival in Dayton that has a very good reputation.  Both in TN, of course.

You have a lot of places to show in Nashville.  Just check out the above sites.  The Rena Klingenberg site suggests that we try events where there is less jewelry competition for better sales.

I use the library, but much of my work is simple stringing and multi-media.  I haven't gone to metal working yet.

    You might try Chattanooga, though.

Dayton, TN here.  Trying my hand at silversmithing and enamel.  I've done shows in the area (and outside the area) but not with jewelry.  Four Bridges (Chattanooga) is one of the top shows in the country...and right in our backyard ... though I've not applied, it's one to consider.
