    firecoat and flux help please

    hi

    can anybody help me out with info for a firecoat mix i have seen the one and it is

    boric acid, borax and denatured alcohol but it didnt say how much of each any ideas? can you use any other fluid like meth spirit

    and can you use paste solder with the boric acid, borax, denatured alcohol  mix and whats the best flux to use with it paste of liquid i got batterns the yellow liquid one (not sure if thats the only one they do) and if its paste i need whats the best one i need a good one no matter how much it costs i ust hard, medium and easy solder (easy only when i rely need to

    sorry for askin so much at once i need to find out as my borax and boric acid is on its way here

    Jason, I use a 50/50 mix of boric acid and denatured alcohol. I don't know about the paste solder because I have never used it. I use Harris Brand Stay-silv white brazing flux that a friend recommended to me. (http:www.jwharris.com) It's very thick and can be diluted a little for most soldering. Hope this helps you a little.
