    Bearer wire or bezel strip?

    Hi There,

I was just wondering if someone can explain to me the difference between bearer wire and bezel strip? when it comes to stone setting which one is the best one to use?

     Thanks

I believe that bearer wire has a 'step' so that the stone sits on a raised set -- another term would be stepped bezel wire. Plain bezel wire or strip is flat and the stone sits on a backplate (for the most part).

So there isn't a 'best' -- they are different for different purposes.
