 Aha--this is where I should have posted my question regarding copper salts that I posted on the From the Recent Issue forum.  Can the copper salt solution that results from etching be poured outside on the ground, or does it have to be taken to a Hazardous Waste disposal site?

Don't pour the salt on the ground! Besides the copper in there the salt will render the soil worthless until it is totally leached out. Take it to the hazardous waste disposal center for disposal. Most plants are not salt tolerant. I know there are parts of the country that use large amounts of salt to keep the roads clear of ice but it is still an environmental pollutant.
