    Joann's clearance

my Joann's had a few colors of Lumiere on CLEARANCE today. I got 3 jars of Sunset Gold for .50 each, 2 Brass for .50 each and Hi-Lite Blue and Hi-Lite Violet for .25 each! they also had the opaque version but I passed on those. I still ended up spending $70 but a lot of it was for my kids this time!

I forget. Is Luminere paint or powder?

Lori, what a fantastic deal. I don't think my Joann's has Lumiere at all, so I get mine at the art store. Sunset Gold is the only gold I really like, rich and not too yellow. If you like copper, try Lumiere Bronze, which is much more of a copper than bronze. Lumiere Copper is nice, but a little too red for me. I'm beginning to appreciate better quality acrylic paint, like Lumiere and Golden. I did some antiquing with some gigantic tube cheapo burnt umber I picked up a while back and it's hideous.

I sure do love working with paints.

I didn't used to think mine had it either,  but I found it eventually in the fabric paint section. Look where they have the tie-dying kits and other fabric paints. excellent because I often use the coupon for the paint. I even got an exciter pack for 40% off.

It is a heat-set acrylic paint. Mostly used for fabric painting (it remains pretty flexible).

Patti Kimle (I think?) made a really cool faux granite using it, in a B&B Mag a year or two ago.
